Northwestern Salamander egg masses are abundant in the wetlands (we found 8 so far, with more area to cover). Compare the firm globular grapefruit sized clusters of the salamander, to the looser more grapelike Northern Red-legged frogs. Both are native amphibians that we’re happy to have using the wetlands, but the frog is particularly exciting since it’s a blue-listed species. @fvconservancy and South Coast Conservation Program has an excellent egg mass ID guide if you want to see more comparisons.
